Raoul, you have just completed your first full season at Wisła Kraków, and today you extended your contract until 2029. Looking back at the day you first signed an agreement with the club, what has changed the most for you over the past year?

Fortunately, not much. We are a very ambitious group, hungry for success. We are trying to continue what we started at the end of last season. That is why I feel so good in this environment, and it is precisely what made me decide to stay here longer.

Has Kraków become your second home yet? What has helped you feel comfortable here the most – both at the club and in everyday life?

Almost, almost, but not quite yet. I can already drive around the city without navigation, though, so that is a big step forward. From the very beginning, my teammates helped me a lot, especially the German-speaking ones. We quickly formed a very strong bond, which certainly also translated into our performances on the pitch. The Polish players also welcomed me very warmly, so it was easy for me to settle into the team and quickly feel at ease here. That also helped me perform well on the pitch. And at home, of course, I have my girlfriend and our dog, who give me balance in life, even during more stressful moments connected with football.

By extending the contract, both you and the club are showing that you strongly believe in this project. What were the most important reasons why you decided to stay at Wisła for the coming years?

Yes, it is a strong statement from both sides. I am extremely honoured to wear the White Star on my chest. From the very beginning of our journey together, it was about more than just promotion. I believe in our President’s vision for the club’s future. I think, and I hope, that there is still a lot for Wisła to achieve, because this club deserves it. For my part, I can promise that I will give everything in every match to help fulfil these ambitions.

In recent months, you have experienced the unique atmosphere at Reymonta. How would you describe Wisła’s fans to someone who has never been to one of our matches?

Simply goosebumps. It is an incredible amount of emotion and passion. It is something amazing. They support us with all their heart and truly know how to be our twelfth player. The stadium is full of energy during matches. It is an atmosphere that literally electrifies you.

Do you already have a favourite place in Kraków? Or perhaps a daily ritual or habit that really makes you feel at home here?

I often go into the city for coffee with my German-speaking teammates. We even have our own regular spot now – we call it our “Stammtisch”. We meet there, drink coffee, play cards and simply relax. At the same time, I am constantly discovering new corners of Kraków and trying to get to know new places and try new things.
