End-to-end action and four goals in Szczecin: Pogoń draw with Wisła Kraków

The final match of the fifth round of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa at the Florian Krygier Stadium in Szczecin provided fans with a fast-paced game full of excitement. The clash between Pogoń and Wisła Kraków featured goals at both ends of the pitch, with all four goals coming in an exciting first half. Ultimately, we return to Kraków with an away point.

The final match of matchday 5 of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa at the Florian Krygier Stadium in Szczecin delivered fast-paced action and plenty of excitement for the fans. The clash between Pogoń and Wisła Kraków featured goals at both ends of the pitch, with all four goals coming in an entertaining first half. Ultimately, we return to Kraków with an away point.

The match began with a shock for our team. In the 3rd minute, Maciej Wojciechowski played the ball into the penalty area, and Musa Juwara beat Marcel Łubik with a low shot. From that moment on, tensions ran high on the pitch — in the opening dozen or so minutes, Jordi Sánchez was shown a yellow card following a confrontation. Wisła quickly responded to the goal they had conceded: in the 15th minute, Marko Bozić decided to shoot from distance, and the ball took a deflection off a defender, completely deceiving Valentin Cojocaru before nestling in the net.

The joy did not last long, however, as in the 25th minute Pogoń capitalized on a set piece — following a cross and a scramble in the penalty area, Linus Wahlqvist turned the ball into the net from close range. Biała Gwiazda showed character and quickly made up the deficit. In the 38th minute, Élie Youan reacted brilliantly amid a scramble in the penalty area, controlling the ball and confidently firing home to make it 2:2.

The second half was fiercely contested, and the referee had to issue further cautions (Maxence Maisonneuve was among those shown a yellow card). Marcel Łubik made a superb intervention to prevent us from conceding after a dangerous shot from Nsame. At the other end, James Igbekeme threatened with a long-range effort, while in the closing stages Marko Bozić could have secured victory for Biała Gwiazda, but his powerful shot from distance struck the home side’s post.

Despite wanting to take all three points, we return from Szczecin with an away point, valuing it after showing character and twice coming from behind against a demanding opponent.
