In view of the information and materials appearing in the public sphere, including comments suggesting the involvement of individuals associated with Wisła Kraków in the tragic incident in Nowa Huta, the Football Club TS Wisła Kraków S.A. firmly condemns all acts of violence and aggression.

At the same time, we strongly oppose automatically associating Wisła Kraków and our entire community with the actions of specific individuals. Using the Club’s name, colors, or symbols, as well as declaring support for Wisła, does not mean representing the Club or acting on its behalf.

Violence has nothing to do with supporting a team. It cannot be justified by tribalism, attachment to a particular group, colors, district, or any ideology. Any attempt to deprive another person of their dignity, health, or life is a denial of the most basic principles of humanity.

Anyone who uses violence, attacks others, intimidates, steals, or participates in street vendettas excludes themselves from the Wisła Kraków community and has no moral right to call themselves a supporter. Supporting a team should mean loyalty, responsibility, and respect for others. Anyone who knowingly harms others not only betrays the values of our Club but—according to a simple principle—is not worthy of being offered a hand.

Such tragic events must prompt the entire football community to engage in deep reflection. The public is regularly shown photographs of shirts, scarves, and other club symbols that have been stolen or taken by force, as well as reports of beatings, assaults, and street vendettas. Too often, these acts are presented as part of rivalry between supporters, even though in reality they are ordinary crimes.

In various places across Poland, in the surroundings of numerous clubs, people acting under the guise of love for their team commit acts of violence, theft, intimidation, and other offenses. Such actions must end. “Love” for a club cannot be an alibi for criminality, and club colors cannot serve as a cover for aggression.

Solving this problem requires the responsible part of the football community—clubs, competition organizers, sports associations, players, honest supporters, the media, and public institutions—to unite. Informal rules created and enforced by groups that use violence are not enough. Decisive, consistent, and coordinated action is needed at the level of the state, law enforcement agencies, the justice system, and entities responsible for organizing and regulating competitions.

Individuals who break the law, use violence, or participate in street vendettas act solely on their own responsibility. Their behavior is in complete contradiction to the values of Wisła Kraków and cannot be justified by attachment to any club colors.

We do not and never will consent to the use of Wisła Kraków’s name, history, and symbols as a pretext for hooliganism, aggression, or criminal activity. Our Club is made up of hundreds of thousands of honest supporters, players, employees, young athletes, and families. We will not allow this entire community to be associated with the unlawful actions of individuals.

Until the authorities complete their proceedings, the Club will not comment further on the matter. We await the official findings of the Police and the prosecutor’s office and remain ready to cooperate within the limits provided by law.

Our position is unequivocal: zero tolerance for any manifestation of violence. No colors, divisions, community rules, or sense of belonging can be more important than human life, dignity, and responsibility toward others.
