Of course, this option has already been chosen and trained by us. I will not reveal it at this moment," coach Mariusz Jop began the conference.

Is it possible to play a match without a nominal striker and rotate offensive players in that position?
"Of course, such a change is always possible. However, the position of the 'nine' is also important, as they will attack space and, in positional play, can also be used in combination play depending on the moment of the match. However, it must be said that we don't nominally have a 'nine' in the squad at the moment. Nikaj came to us as a winger. Dua is more of a winger than a 'nine'. The same goes for Kacper Duda and Julius Ertlthaler - they are not those types of players. However, in our style of play, we are able to adapt one of them to give us what we want, which is to create opportunities and then finalize them in the penalty area," he said.

Is reinforcing the squad with a player from the reserves, e.g., Karol Tokarczyk, or a medical transfer being considered?
"No, there is rather no talk of a medical transfer. As for Karol, I know him well, because when I was still coaching the second team, he played more in the number eight, ten position. He was also with the first team several times at training camps before the seasons or during the winter break, so I know him well. He's an interesting guy, but he's not a 'nine' profile. He's rather a player like several others we have in the first eleven and in the wider squad of the first team," he said.

Analysis of defensive play.
"After the winter break, we conceded 4 out of 10 goals from set pieces. We know that this is something we need to work on, and we are working on it every week. I don't think there was a microcycle where we didn't pay attention to this. However, we also have to remember what the specifics of our players are, and this is something we train a lot with. We know that we are simply not the tallest team in this league, and the classic, first-league profile is based on tall players and set pieces. Sometimes it happens that we will concede those goals. In fact, recently there have been more of them than statistically before. It is also important that we can also score goals from set pieces, and that balance evens out somewhere," replied the coach of Biała Gwiazda.

Polonia had several changes in terms of coaches. Is the work of the new staff already visible in the analyses?
"Certainly, the current coach worked with coach Tomczyk for a long time. There are a lot of similarities in terms of the style of play, attacking and defending, and transitional phases. I think they have returned to the work these coaches did together before, and I think we should expect a team that will be similar to the one from coach Tomczyk's time," coach Jop replied.

Polonia managed to put strong pressure on their opponent in the final minutes of the match against Miedź.
"There will definitely be different moments, there will definitely be moments when the opponent will try to press us. There will definitely be moments when we will be a bit in positional attack or low defense, and there will also definitely be very dangerous set pieces, because that's how they scored a goal against Miedź in the final minutes, which probably gave them a bit of an emotional boost on a difficult pitch. I agree that Miedź could have closed the game several times earlier, because they had some good counter-attacks after quick attacks. They lacked finishing in those situations, but it also shows that Polonia doesn't calculate. When they attack and try to catch up, they go with a lot of players and take risks, on the one hand putting many players into the penalty area, but on the other hand leaving certain spaces that can be exploited, and Miedź tried to do that, but they lacked the finishing touch, and you could say that Polonia punished them in the end," he said.

"If I recall how the table looked at the mid-season break, we remember that Polonia was in second place there, and in fact, after the break, after the change of coach, they had a lot of problems with organizing their play and, above all, with scoring points. However, we know that this team can play at a higher level, and I think that there was already such an indication in the match against Miedź, where their play looked much better. We are prepared as a team for the fact that this will be an opponent who will show high intensity, who will be very ambitious, determined, and will also be dangerous in what they do well, i.e., set pieces, i.e., that high intensity and attempt to win the ball high up the pitch. We know the opponent's strengths, we also know where they have some weaker points, and we also know that a very difficult match awaits us, regardless of how many points they have scored now after the winter break. This is a team that has considerable potential," the coach concluded his analysis of the opponent.

Only a few points and matches remain until the desired goal. How to deal with this additional pressure?
"I think a similar situation has been going on for a long time, where we have to escape from our chasing rivals. We have experience of how difficult this league is and how many surprises there are. I think few expected that, for example, speaking of Polonia Bytom, who were in second place, that with 7 rounds to go, Puszcza would be higher in the table than our Sunday rivals. This only shows that this league can surprise, and absolutely no one can be underestimated. From a mental point of view, we have these experiences, already four years of them, and many players have been in this team since then. We know that to show our quality, above all, we have to work very hard on the pitch, and absolutely no one will give us anything for free, and it will certainly be the same on Sunday. This match will cost us a lot of work and commitment, because, firstly, everyone wants to play with the leader, everyone wants to win against the leader, and everyone wants to show themselves against the rival, i.e., us, the team that is currently in the best league," he said.

The match will be played on an artificial pitch.
"That, of course, matters, and I think it's a big advantage for the hosts. To adapt to this pitch, you simply need to play on it for a while. Of course, there's a warm-up, tomorrow we'll train on an artificial surface, but it's not identical to the one in Bytom, so it's a, let's say, adaptation prosthesis," the coach assessed.

The coach mentioned that Ardit Nikaj was brought in as a winger. What is the situation with Ervin Omic in terms of his position and is he being considered for the squad?
"As for Nikaj, I will add that he came to us as a winger and was tested in that position and in the number 9 position in training and friendly matches. Depending on what the team needed and where we had, let's say, some vacancies. As for Ervin, for me he is more of a player with predispositions for the number 8 position than the 6," he described.

Dawid Olejarka is a standout player in the reserves. Is his participation in the match against Polonia being considered?
"He will not be in the matchday 20 squad for Sunday's game," he replied briefly.

In the absence of Rodado and Biedrzycki, who will take on the role of leader in the dressing room?
"I think I've said this many times. In my opinion, we have several leaders in the team, and the fact that Angel or Biedra cannot play in this match does not mean they won't be with us. They can also support the team by being in the locker room. There are several people who are able to take on this role. There are those who already fulfill this role. I wouldn't want to publicly say who. I think one natural leader is Alan, who, as we know, after a long injury, came back and performed very well when he came on for Biedra in the last match. He is a man who is always with the team and supports it strongly. And now he will simply be able to do it from the pitch," he said.

Is Alan Uryga expected to play in place of Wiktor Biedrzycki?
"Yes," assured the coach of Biała Gwiazda.

Marko Bozić's form is growing with each match. Is this a surprise?
"I have also said many times about Bozić that he started winter preparations very well and performed well in sparring matches, he performed very well in training, and it was a big blow for him as a footballer that he suffered an injury that ruled him out for several weeks. I am glad that returning after this break, he is performing at a good level and, above all, he is effective, because in the last two matches he scored two goals. This is something we want to cultivate. If a player has such a moment that he scores goals, then it is certainly a great help for him, because his belief in goal-scoring situations is much greater, his determination is much greater, and his effectiveness is much greater as a result. I am glad that Bozić is back. It is not a surprise to me that he is performing well on the pitch, because he was already sending such signals earlier," he described the player.

Statistics and numbers suggest that promotion can be secured in the next few matches. Does the coach like this kind of statistics and mathematics?
"Numbers are important. Of course, in modern football, statistics are important, but we focus primarily on what is happening today, which is training and the next match. This is a philosophy that we have adhered to for a long time and we do not intend to change it. We think about what is in the next match, and statistics and numbers are helpful in our daily work and also for various analyses for journalists and experts," concluded coach Mariusz Jop.
