Wisła Kraków midfielder Kacper Duda summed up the draw with Pogoń Szczecin on Canal+. The young player discussed the course of the match, his analysis of the goals conceded, adapting to the demands of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, and his footballing inspirations.

Assessment of the match and the team’s sense of dissatisfaction
Asked to assess the point earned and the areas requiring improvement, the player replied:
“I think we were slightly lacking in concentration today at key moments, especially right at the start. Our opening to the match was a little sluggish. We kept possession, but essentially the first time Pogoń touched the ball, they turned it into a goal. From that moment on, we had to fight back. Later, the same thing happened again. I think that after this match, we will focus only on the positive moments. It seems to me that we kept possession well, especially in the second half. Somewhere along the way, we were missing that final step of turning it into good chances. We took shots, but they were not really clear-cut opportunities, so I think that is what we will work on.”

Analysis of the goal conceded
Asked about the situation surrounding the goal conceded from a set piece and the duel in the penalty area, Kacper Duda explained:
“I focused on making space for the goalkeeper. I knew the player would try to block our goalkeeper, so I focused on battling him physically instead of attacking the ball. Unfortunately, it bounced into the opponent’s path.”

Physicality in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa
Asked about the physical conditions in midfield and facing athletic opponents, the footballer said:
“In the First League, the teams were even taller, and that average height became less significant because we controlled the matches. In the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, it is obviously more difficult, but I think we will not change our mentality and will try to control matches by playing the ball along the ground.”

First impressions and development in the top division
Asked about his experiences so far playing in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa and his assessment of the team’s potential, the player said:
“My first experiences came around 2019. I even had the chance to be on the bench for a match against Pogoń, when they were top of the table, if I remember correctly. We took three points from the leaders back then, in 2019, I believe. The kind of real, on-the-pitch experience in a match essentially began this season. I think that neither Wisła nor I have shown what we are capable of yet, so we will work hard. I will work hard to leave an increasingly better impression on the pitches of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa.”

Inspirations and role models 
Asked about his footballing role models and the top European players he looks up to, Kacper Duda concluded:
“I would look towards Catalonia, and that would be Pedri from Barcelona. Obviously, there is still a huge difference in levels, but his game has impressed me greatly since his beginnings at FC Barcelona. I try to follow every FC Barcelona match and I watch him closely. Afterwards, I try to recreate his movements on the pitch.”
