Jordi Sánchez is not slowing down. The Spanish Wisła Kraków striker found the net once again and has six goals to his name after six matches. After the game against Wieczysta Kraków, the Biała Gwiazda player spoke to Cezary Olbrycht on CANAL+.
The Wisła striker was asked primarily about his excellent scoring record at the start of the season and what lies behind his very good form.
– I think it comes down to hunger. I was hungry to return to the Ekstraklasa, and now I am showing that on the pitch. I am also lucky because I play alongside very good players. I simply add the goals to that – said Jordi Sánchez.
The Spaniard also addressed the fact that he is currently scoring with remarkable regularity in the Ekstraklasa, whereas the end of the previous season in the second tier was considerably more difficult for him.
– It is the result of hard work. In the final matches of the first division, I was injured and played with a lot of pain in my ankle. Now, after a very productive preseason, I am healthy and feel one hundred percent. So I can simply enjoy football.
The conversation also touched on Wisła’s second goal, scored by Jérémy Guillemenot. Sánchez stressed that goals like this from his teammate do not surprise the Biała Gwiazda players.
– We know that about him. He scores goals like that practically in every training session, and today he was able to show it in a match as well. It was an incredible goal. I am very happy for him because we are one big family and we need every player.
Wisła once again made use of the advantage of playing at home. Sánchez was asked whether the stadium on Reymonta could become a real fortress for the Biała Gwiazda this season.
– I hope so. We feel very good and very confident here. Today we also played on the new pitch and felt good on it. I hope we will continue this run and keep winning at home.
At the end, the striker also assessed the new surface at the stadium on Reymonta.
– It is different. I think it still needs a little time to settle properly and become more stable. But ultimately, we won, and nothing else matters – concluded Jordi Sánchez.
