Jeremy, it is difficult to imagine a better debut in front of your home crowd—a 2–0 victory and a goal right away. How are you feeling now?
I feel really good. I worked hard for this moment. I scored a goal, and it was not an easy match, so scoring the second goal was very important for us. I am proud of myself, but above all, I am proud of the whole team.
How do you remember the move that led to the goal and the moment when the ball hit the net?
I told Miki to pass me the ball, and then I took the shot. As soon as I struck it, I had a feeling that the ball was going straight into the goal. I was incredibly happy.
It was a very important moment for me. Right after the goal, all the players ran over to celebrate with me, and that really meant a lot to me.
It was your first match in front of our supporters as a Wisła player, and you marked it with a goal right away. Is this how you imagined the moment?
You always imagine moments like this, but when they actually happen, you feel a little as though you are dreaming. I think every player would like to score in their first appearance in front of their home crowd.
For me, as a striker, scoring goals is very important. Today I managed to score a really good goal, and I hope there will be many more.
Do you dedicate this goal to anyone special?
Yes. This goal was very important to me because my grandmother passed away this summer. I would like to dedicate it to her, but also to my entire family. It was not an easy time for us.
Sometimes moments come when you want to dedicate a goal to someone special, and this one was definitely for her.
For the first time, you could also experience the atmosphere of our stadium from the pitch as a Wisła player. How did you experience the match, the supporters’ chants, and their reaction after your goal?
It was incredible. You can really feel the support coming from the stands, and when the supporters were chanting my name, it was a special feeling for me.
It is easier to play here when you feel that everyone is behind the team. After scoring, I really felt that atmosphere and that the whole stadium was celebrating with me. I would simply like to thank the supporters for their support.
We won 2–0 and kept our first clean sheet of the season. How do you assess the team’s performance, particularly in terms of controlling the match and working without the ball?
Keeping a clean sheet was very important for us. It was not an easy match. When I came onto the pitch, we had to do a lot of defensive work.
Later, I managed to score the second goal at a very important moment for us. After that goal, the whole team worked and ran for one another to protect the result and avoid conceding.
Today, the most important things were the whole team and our supporters. We did it all together.
