Reymont’s Fortress Remains Unconquered! Ángel Rodado Show and Convincing Victory over Jagiellonia
Fans gathered on Reymonta Street witnessed a spectacular match in the 8th round of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa. Wisła Kraków completely dominated Jagiellonia Białystok, deservedly winning 2–0. The hero of the evening was Ángel Rodado, who scored twice to secure the White Star’s sixth consecutive home victory and move them up to 4th place in the table.
The White Star made a superb start to the match and took the initiative from the opening minutes. The hosts regularly threatened Sławomir Abramowicz’s goal and proved their superiority in the 14th minute — Ángel Rodado met Marko Božić’s precise cross and scored his second goal of the season with a powerful header. In the following minutes, Wisła continued to create dangerous chances. Julius Ertlthaler, Marko Božić, and James Igbekeme, among others, looked for opportunities, but the score remained unchanged until halftime, with the White Star heading into the dressing room one goal ahead and allowing their opponents from Białystok no threat in front of Marcel Łubik’s goal.
After the break, the pattern of play remained similar. In the 53rd minute, Rodado put the ball in the net again, but the referee ruled the Wisła striker offside. Jagiellonia gradually tried to approach the hosts’ penalty area, but the White Star’s defense effectively stopped the visitors’ attacks. Wisła constantly searched for a second goal — Sławomir Abramowicz had to pull off a series of saves in the visitors’ goal, including keeping out a shot that struck the post in the 77th minute. Moments later, following Božić’s shot, Darijo Grujčić put the ball into the net, but after a VAR review the goal was disallowed for handball.
Mariusz Jop’s side put the finishing touch on the match in the 87th minute. Marko Božić unleashed a powerful long-range shot, Abramowicz parried the ball in front of him, and Ángel Rodado reacted quickest to the rebound and fired it into the net, completing his brace and sealing Wisła’s deserved victory.
