"This was not our good match. From my point of view, we definitely couldn't get into our rhythm, our way of playing, from the beginning of this game. In addition, we made a colossal number of mistakes in this match, which, due to the high quality and football skills of Wisła's players, were very quickly exploited. Especially since the first goal definitely affected - I believe - our behavior on the pitch. What happened later. History repeated itself right after the break, after two quickly scored goals, and one could say that the history of this phase of the Polish Cup ended. We had the right to dream a little, but we have to postpone those dreams until next year. Thank you very much for your attention," he began.

In Thursday's match, the Krakow team had the upper hand, which was reflected in the score. The visitors responded with one goal, which the coach assessed: "There was a moment, after we scored, and even before we scored, when there was a chance to write often cup scenarios. This was basically the only moment when we showed even a fragment of what we are capable of. I regret it very much, because this adventure for every team, and especially for a team whose profile we could present here, is particularly important. But, I will repeat what I said in the match assessment - a quickly scored goal and then the goal for 4:1 sealed this match and closed it. We had a small fragment in which it could be said that what we can currently play as a team was visible, but it was too little to attempt any greater drama in this match and create a bigger problem for Wisła, when it comes to advancing to the next round."

When asked if the change of Wisła's coach influenced Stal's preparation process for the match? "No. I don't think so. Wisła is an established team in my opinion, in terms of sports and football level. I am particularly referring here to its individual members and each of these players who are currently performing and have the opportunity to represent this club. It is so high that it seems to me from my point of view, and I approached it this way before the match, that the change of coach here is certainly important, because a new person in the locker room, a "new broom," new hopes, new decisions - that certainly matters, but we definitely did not take that into account. We expected that Wisła in such a situation would be additionally determined and motivated in a certain way, because I am convinced that a defeat in today's match would be a really big problem. We certainly wanted to create that problem, I will not hide it, but unfortunately, goals and the quality of the team on the pitch count," he concluded.

"I think that what was most important to do today, which was victory, we did. Besides, we definitely wanted to play spectacularly, bravely, take risks, and that risk paid off. We scored four goals, so we are happy with this match," he briefly summarized. "Indeed, we had a lot of high-zone recoveries. It was certainly a bit easier for the players, because we moved one of the players higher. We changed the setup a bit. This was the nuance I mentioned, and it paid off. Of course, it's risky, but I think there are enough good players here in offensive and defensive duels that it's worth taking that risk. And indeed, after high recoveries, we created many situations," he analyzed.

When asked if such a high victory would help the R22 players approach the last two matches with more confidence, he replied: "I think every victory builds and adds confidence. I think there were moments among these players when they lacked this confidence, and such a match gives a good mental boost, so I hope the players maintain their concentration and I am convinced that they will be 100% ready for Sunday."

The Wisła coach also briefly outlined the plan he had before the match with Stal. "We focused on a few minor adjustments regarding defending. The players had slightly different assumptions for positions 'six' and 'eight' when it came to building play. There were quite a few tactical nuances that were introduced. I was also curious if they would work, and in many cases they did, but not always, because there were a few mistakes. A few times the players didn't quite understand what we meant. Sometimes they were a bit late, but these are the things that worked. There was no need to somehow clear their heads, because the players were highly concentrated and they didn't lack motivation, because above all they felt that they played poorly in the last match. But also, the situation after the match, related to coach Sobolewski's resignation, was a stimulus for many of them through respect for the coach, through respect for that staff. It was also a motivation for them that they wanted to do a lot for this club, for Wisła, for the team. I also perceived it that way," he continued.

There was also a question about the performance of Dawid Szot, who opened the scoring. "Dawid is a player who has a so-called 'football intuition' in front of goal. He is a physically well-prepared player. He always works 100 percent, and today his work paid off. Many times he ran forward, joined the offensive action - nicely after his recovery he continued with the action and scored a goal. There was no need to motivate Dawid in any special way. He is a very aware young man and works hard to play," he said.

Can we expect a change in Wisła's goal, and will Kamil Broda stand between the posts on Sunday? "Indeed, Kamil is a good goalkeeper, I value him very much. I also had the opportunity to see him several times this season in the reserve team. He is always a very well-prepared, focused player. In cup matches, he also showed quality, but as for the goalkeeping position, it would certainly be good if the players in that position did not find out from the press conference who will play, but the first, second, and third goalkeepers are all at a high level," he said.

He was also asked to assess Bartosz Talar's performance: "Bartek - just like the whole team - played a good match. He also understood the corrections we wanted to introduce well, because he was also in the reserve team several times. And he, like Kamil Broda, is an example of a professional who is focused regardless of whether he plays in the reserves or in the first team. He waited a long time for this match, and in the previous cup match, he showed his very good side. Today, he sealed it with a goal. I am very happy that those who work hard later reap the benefits."
