After the November international break, Wisła Kraków secured three points in a thrilling match played at R22. Szymon Sobczak provided two assists for his teammates' goals, and we spoke with him after the match.

"Such victories taste great. Not just for us players, but also for the fans, because faith in each of us should last until the end. We often talk about it, then sometimes we forget, but matches like the one against GKS come along and it gave us a lot from this season. I don't remember us coming back into the game like that before. Practically in our last action, we secured a win in an incredibly important match for us. For us, even draws are not satisfying, so a win in such circumstances brings double joy," he began. "I like to emphasize that we should stop acting as if no opponent has the right to touch us. It doesn't work that way. Every opponent wants to do their job, and there are moments in a match when you need to be able to defend, even playing in a low block sometimes. Of course, I know that at 1-1, I had a good opportunity, I could have shot more precisely, and it could have been 2-1 for us. But from the perspective of the pitch, it seems to me that we conceded goals too easily. After recent matches, where we performed very well defensively, this gives a slightly different picture of our game. In the end, however, the three points are what matters most, because that's what we planned for this match. Honestly? In this match, style wasn't important, only the win. And it will be like that until the end of the round. We know what the table looks like, so style takes a backseat; we're just counting points. That's all we'll be looking at until the end of the year," he added.

One of Sobczak's assists was completely unusual, as it was made with his back. "Rollercoaster... Some say the first one was a fluke. I'll say that I saw Igor Sapała send a good long pass. It was practiced to exploit open spaces. Maybe my timing wasn't perfect in that situation, but I saw the ball coming and I wanted to lay it off to Goku, no matter how. He took it well and scored a goal. First and foremost, we were looking for shots in this match. That was good. Maybe there was still a lack of precision, maybe the pitch isn't ideal yet, which sometimes doesn't help when a final pass seems simple but turns out differently. As for that last assist and goal, I must strongly emphasize this, I really want it to resonate. We actually told ourselves this in the huddle after the final whistle - we must always play until the last second, because that's what this league is like, you have to approach it that way. I don't think it has fully sunk in yet, how we managed to get out of this match unscathed. We won a match that could have gone the other way. Let's appreciate that, because it's our small step, a small light at the end of the tunnel, that something more permanent is beginning," he communicated.

Sobczak also played a part in Angel Baena's goal, where he crossed the ball to his teammate from the wing. "I've played on the wing before. The guys laughed that I, as a striker, would probably want to receive such balls myself. We have players who can cross like that. And as for that move, everything worked in it. I hit the cross perfectly, Angel struck it perfectly. If we tried to do it like that ten times, I don't know how many times it would work out. It was a great counter-attack and, most importantly, a great finish. What more can I say, the last action of the match, a goal, and I think you could see from our joy how much we wanted that win. I think we deserved it as a team. I know this match wasn't beautiful, but we kept it in check. We didn't give up for a moment. Even when we conceded a goal to make it 1-2, there were signals from the pitch that we could turn the match around. We succeeded!" he continued.
