The weekend at our Academy was marked by high-profile matches. On Saturday, the Myślenice teams played their matches. In the 13th round of the CLJ U-19, Wisła hosted Legia Warsaw. The match was very hard-fought. In the first half, a red card was shown to Sałaj and Wisła went into the break trailing by one goal. In the second half, the White Star fought fiercely and, despite playing a man down, equalized at 3-3 before the end of regulation time. Unfortunately for us, the visitors had the last word, tipping the balance in their favor in stoppage time. The match ended 3-4, leaving a great deal of disappointment despite the team's spirited performance with ten men.

Another match that stirred great emotions was the Little Kraków Derby, in which Wisła faced Cracovia away from home. The match took place as part of the 11th round of the CLJ U-17. The young Wisła players showed no shortage of character and determination from the first minutes, although the opponents struck first - after Karaś scored for the home side, we went into halftime trailing by one goal. However, the second 45 minutes were entirely dominated by our team. Consistent play and fighting for every inch of the pitch paid off with two goals. Ultimately, they gave us a deserved victory on difficult ground and allowed us to strengthen our position as league runners-up.

Another important event for our younger age groups was the latest Interleague competition, which came to Kraków this week. The Wisła U-11, U-12 and U-13 teams were not very hospitable to their visitors, however - of the six matches played, we had to concede superiority to our opponents only once. As a reminder, the Interleague is a valuable development project that allows our teams to regularly compete against established European clubs. Thanks to these competitions and away trips - including to the Czech Republic and Slovakia - our young players have an excellent opportunity not only to gain valuable experience on the pitch, but also to learn about our neighbors' football culture.
