"We came here to win. We talked about it all week within the team. The first half was a bit sluggish on our part. We held onto the ball for too long. We had an optical advantage, but not much came of it. However, after conceding a goal, the team reacted very well right from the start of the second half. We improved our aggressiveness and speed with the ball in our actions, and it was visible on the pitch. I think we had a significant advantage in the second half. We could have scored more goals. But I'm glad that after many draws, we broke the streak and won against a young, ambitious team, in a place where they have an interesting project to develop these young people. We did our part, and one could say we took a huge step towards promotion," summed up Wisła Kraków coach Mariusz Jop.

Was the substitution at halftime tactical?
"It was due to health issues. Kacper wasn't feeling very well this morning. After the warm-up, he thought he was ready, because sometimes you get that feeling. But later it was clear that the ailments he had didn't allow him to fully show his abilities. I think that change was needed a bit earlier, but we wanted to wait a bit so as not to lose the substitution window," said the White Star coach.

"If not for Kacper, perhaps someone else would have come off at halftime, because we saw that some players had a slightly weaker day. It must be said that Kuzi trained very well all week, and it was clear that, firstly, there was no trace of the injury he sustained in the last match, and secondly, that he was moving well. I think everyone who came on made a positive impact. I'm very happy that this team is so close-knit. In fact, all the injured players were in the locker room today; we were together. That's very important. The atmosphere and what we've managed to build in this team, not what we managed, but what we built in terms of mentality, in terms of being together, it translates onto the pitch later," he stated.

Promotion is very close.
"I think practically yes, but theoretically not yet. So we'll wait to celebrate, hopefully, this coming Friday after the match against Chrobry Głogów," he said, tempering expectations.

After a series of draws, finally a win.
"I know that expectations for Wisła Kraków are always very high, and the pressure that accompanies this team has always been there and will be in the future too. Regardless of the results Wisła achieves. Of course, it was somewhat burdensome that we were drawing away games, but every streak ends. For some negative, for others positive. The important thing is that today we did what we set out to do, which was to get three points. And we did it against a team that has its strengths, mainly in offense," he said.

If one leader is missing, another emerges.
"Yes, I've said many times that this team has many people who can step into that role, and Dua, I must admit, has a great mentality. I remember him when he first joined us, and there was a period when he played less. I never heard from him, not just in conversations with me, of course, because you don't say such things to the coach, but among the team, to the sports director, he never looked for blame outside himself; he always attributed it to himself. He is a player with a good mentality, who works hard, and who is having a good moment, as he has scored four goals in the last three matches. Sometimes there are players who need such an impulse, and then, on that euphoria, on that strong belief in what they're doing, they become effective. Bozi had such a moment, and now Fred has such a moment. I'm very happy that even in Angel's absence, there are players who can fill that void in terms of scoring goals," he said.

Is there euphoria in the locker room, or rather subdued moods?
"There isn't great euphoria. There's singing, joy. I told the team today, and I think the team shares my view, that it's also very important for us to maintain the first position in this long-distance competition with Śląsk Wrocław. We have our goal of being very well prepared for all upcoming matches," he assured.

Matura exams are starting. How do you remember that time?
"Positively. I passed. I got into university, so I was one of the few players at Wisła Kraków at the time who studied alongside Tomek Kulawik. Now it's definitely much easier, I think, to combine school and training. There are many other possibilities. Apropos of the Matura exams, two Wisła players, Baniowski and Kawała, will be taking their exams starting Monday, so we wish them good luck with that as well. We're keeping our fingers crossed for them," he replied.

Did Stal's starting eleven surprise you?
"Madejski's situation, that he played from the start, surprised us a bit. I know Wachowiak probably had an injury two days ago, and that probably allowed this young lad to play. Quite decently, I think. For a debut, he handled himself well. I mentioned that Stal is a team with many offensive strengths. These are players who aren't afraid and like to take on one-on-one challenges. The statistics also confirm this. They have their problems mainly in defensive play. Did we need to additionally motivate the team? I think we have many motivators, and there's no need to additionally stimulate the players, because we simply have our goal. Or rather, our goals that we want to achieve," concluded coach Mariusz Jop.
