“Congratulations to the hosts on the victory, and I wish them success in their upcoming cup matches. As for us, there is certainly a sense of disappointment because the situation developed in such a way that we played with a one-man advantage. We tried to play in possession, and it must be admitted that Górnik defended well during that phase of the match. We essentially created one dangerous chance, which fell to Alan Uryga. Of course, when we look at the statistics, we can see that we should have got more from this match. It is certainly painful to concede goals in a game like this, against such an opponent, from set pieces, because the first and second goals both came in such situations. We are certainly disappointed, because I think we could have got more from this match.”

Difficulties in Possession
Asked what the team lacked to pose a more frequent threat to the hosts’ deep defensive line after the red card, the Biała Gwiazda coach replied:
“A little bit of everything. Sometimes it was about winning duels in the wide areas, sometimes deciding to shoot from the central zone, and sometimes delivering the ball more accurately from the flank. These are several elements that have to come together perfectly to score against such a compact defense. It is not easy for anyone. We had that one chance, and perhaps another when Ángel took a shot on the half-volley. I was counting on him because he is a player who is very dangerous near the penalty area, and he had his moment. As I said, it was a little bit of everything,” Wisła Kraków’s coach emphasized.

The Team’s Away Form
Referring to the disparity between the points earned in home and away matches in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, the coach explained:
“I do not want to look at it that way. If we look at the results, that theory is indeed confirmed, but we still have many home and away matches ahead of us. I would not want to pigeonhole the team in this way, as if we could only earn points at home. I think this team is capable of earning points away from home as well. Of course, we need to gain that experience, and we gain it with every match.”

Physical Condition and the Role of Ángel Rodado
Asked about Ángel Rodado starting the match and his process of returning to peak form, Mariusz Jop added:
“I think we need to give Ángel some time. Let us remember, though, that his preseason preparation was different from that of the rest of the team. He certainly still needs a little more time to reach his optimal condition. Today, too, he had moments when he looked a little weaker. However, as I said, when the opponent is spending a lot of time in possession and we are playing with a one-man advantage, you are counting on the moment when he gets the ball 20 meters from goal, because he is certainly an outstanding player in that phase.”

Logistical Plans Ahead of the Trip to Szczecin
Answering a question about the organization of the upcoming league trip, the coach outlined the team’s plans:
“On Saturday we are flying to Szczecin, and then on Monday afternoon we will fly back to Kraków.”

Summing Up the Victory and Playing a Man Down
Górnik Zabrze coach Michal Gašparík assessed his team’s performance during the cup marathon and league clash with Wisła as follows:
“A good start to the match. There was energy, they played high, we pressed the opponent high, we began creating chances and building momentum. Then there was a strong counterattack and a good save by Philipp Schulze. I think the game was then on our side again, and we deservedly scored that one goal in the first half. It was a really good first half, and the opponent wanted to play with strong pressing and intensity on this pitch. In the second half, everything changed for us in a second. It was 2–0, and we received a red card. Then came an unfortunate moment—the goal we conceded. We reacted by changing the system and defended in a 5-3-1 with ten men. The boys showed how strong a team Górnik is and how flexible this team can be. We needed to be present on that pitch. Three days ago, the boys covered more than 116 kilometers, and today they once again gave everything they had. Victories like this taste the best.”

Winning Run in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa
Asked about the successful start to the season and the team’s latest consecutive league victory, the Zabrze coach replied:
“We talked about how this would be our third consecutive victory. I do not know how many times Górnik have had a perfect record after three rounds at the start of a season. For now, we are happy and we will keep fighting.”

Experience from European Competitions
Asked whether playing on the international stage helps the team cope with difficult moments in league matches, the hosts’ coach emphasized:
“Every match is an experience. Today, the most important thing for me was for the staff and the boys to lift themselves mentally, because we were truly sad after that match that we had not advanced. The boys showed that they do not conserve their energy, that they give everything from the first minute, want to play and demand the ball. They showed that throughout the entire 90 minutes.”

Set-Piece Training and the Free-Kick Goal
Referring to the free-kick attempts and the goal scored by Maksym Chłań, Michal Gašparík explained:
“We trained it two days ago. Peter Federico is somewhat new to us, and at first I did not know that he was good at set pieces, but so far it is clear that he is very dangerous from corners as well and has a well-trained left foot. The same goes for Kacper Urbański. And Maksym Chłań—it was a surprise, but the boys who stood in a group of three next to the wall and blocked the goalkeeper’s view also did a great job. That is why it turned into a nice goal.”

Assessment of the Opponent and Philipp Schulze’s Performance
The coach also commented on the goalkeeper’s performance and the analysis prepared for the match:
“We had prepared an analysis of Wisła Kraków’s goalkeeper. We had to prepare the team for his long passes and the fact that he plays the ball very quickly. I think we controlled many of those situations. Philipp Schulze showed that he is a good replacement and that he has quality and excellent reflexes on the line. That was very important, because if we had conceded the first goal, it would have been a difficult match for us.”

Asked about the second yellow card shown to his player, the coach described the incident as an unfortunate accident:
“He did not want to foul him at all; he simply had the ball and wanted to get the opponent off his back. It was accidental. These things happen in football, which is why it is such a great sport.”
