Wisła Kraków secures its second victory in the new PKO BP Ekstraklasa season! In a matchday 3 fixture, Biała Gwiazda defeated Wisła Płock 2:1 at Reymonta. Ángel Rodado scored his premiere goal in the top league, with Jordi Sánchez adding the second for our team.
The White Star better than the Oilmen
Wisła Kraków defeated Wisła Płock 2:1 at home, securing their second victory of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa season. Goals for the White Star were scored by Ángel Rodado and Jordi Sánchez.
In the 14th minute of the match, Ángel Rodado opened the scoring, netting his debut goal in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa. However, the Oilmen's response was not long in coming. Said Hamulić capitalized on a good pass from Dani Pacheco to level the score. In the second half of the first period, Jordi Sánchez was fouled outside the penalty area. Rodado stepped up to take the free-kick, but his shot hit the wall. The ball then fell to Sánchez, who effectively seized the opportunity to restore the White Star's lead. The beginning of the second half saw Dani Pacheco suffer an injury after a collision with Rodado, forcing him to leave the pitch. In the subsequent minutes, the visitors took the initiative. First, Marcel Łubik saved a dangerous shot from Hamulić, and shortly after, a header from Marcin Kamiński was denied by the post, saving our team. In the final minutes, there was tension in both penalty areas, but the score remained unchanged, and the White Star could celebrate their second victory of the season.
Wisła Kraków's next match will be on Sunday, August 16th, at 8:15 PM at the Ernest Pohl Stadium in Zabrze, where they will face local team Górnik.
