In the 11th round of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, Wisła Kraków drew 0-0 away against Widzew Łódź. Although the fans gathered at Piłsudski Avenue saw no goals, there was no shortage of excitement on the pitch - a contest full of dangerous chances also featured a saved penalty and fantastic saves from both teams’ goalkeepers.

The hosts had the upper hand early on, trying to impose their style of play. Widzew created the most dangerous chance of the first half through a shot by Fran Alvarez. However, Marcel Łubik brilliantly tipped his effort onto the crossbar, preventing Biała Gwiazda from conceding. Biała Gwiazda responded with clever attempts by Ángel Rodado, who twice tried to catch Bartłomiej Drągowski off guard directly from a corner - after one of these attempts, the Widzew goalkeeper managed to keep his team from conceding with the help of the post. Just before the break, Julius Ertlthaler also had a good opportunity, but his shot went over the crossbar.

Missed Chance and Excellent Saves by Łubik

After the break, Wisła took the initiative. In the 61st minute, following a blocked shot by Jakub Krzyżanowski, the officials spotted a handball by Ricardo Visus in the penalty area after a VAR review and awarded a penalty to the Kraków side. Ángel Rodado stepped up to take the spot kick, but his shot hit the crossbar and went out of play.

Wisła continued to push for a winning goal in the following stages of the match. Kacper Duda tried his luck from distance, while the substitutes introduced after the break enlivened the attack - Marc Carbó had a good first-time chance, but his shot went over the crossbar. The hosts looked to threaten on the counter and from free kicks, and Gazibegović had a chance in the 88th minute. However, the outstanding Marcel Łubik rose to the occasion once again, making a superb save.

Ultimately, the match ended in a share of the points, leaving Biała Gwiazda disappointed.
