120 years of Wisła captured in a single design
We proudly present the anniversary jersey released to celebrate the 120th anniversary of Wisła Kraków. This kit was not created with a ruler and compass – it was created from history. Its design draws inspiration from the ornate Wawel tapestries, the same ones that for centuries have told the story of Krakow as a city of kings. The florid pattern is arranged to subtly recreate the shape of Wisła's coat of arms shield – a motif not immediately visible, but discovered upon closer inspection.
Where King Sigismund Augustus's monogram appeared on the original tapestry, today the initials "TS" and the date "1906" are embossed – the year in which the Wisła Sports Club began to write its history. The club crest, specially prepared for the 120th anniversary, is placed on the chest, made with a jacquard technique with embroidered details, and an embroidered star on the neckline/collar.
Red – the color in which Wisła played its most important matches in its history – meets the white of the collar and cuffs, and golden piping that emphasizes the significance of the occasion.
Each jersey is numbered – from 1/1906 to 1906/1906 – and comes to the fan in a dedicated box with a certificate, as a souvenir, not just a match kit. This is a limited edition, prepared exclusively for the anniversary season.
